Rock Against Diabetes November 2005

On November 20, 2005 at McMenamins, Kennedy School The second annual Rock Against Diabetes raised over $1000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and Gales Creek Camp! We created and organized this event to help find a cure for our 3-year-old son Henry. Henry’s dad, Tom, plays in “Sketchy Ted” and annually recruits many of his fellow bands to join the fight against diabetes!

A special thank you to McMenimans and the amazing bands that “rocked” us closer to a cure: Rachel Taylor Brown, Sketchy Ted, Mission  5, James Sasser, The Lonesomes, Scotland Bar & the Slow Drags, and Doug Lindstrom and friends. Thank you to all the volunteers from Gales Creek and JDRF for working the door, providing the information table, and for hosting the kids table. Some of the wonderful volunteers/helpers: Joannie Kono, Lisa Daley, Cheryl Sheppard, Linda Baker, and Deb Sharkey. And thank you to camp counselors Coheed and Lobos for coming out and playing with the kids.
